2011 Colorado Quinella Rules

Overall

there are 5 scoring events worth a maximum of 8 pts each

teams finishing 1st in any event will get 8 pts, 2nd recieves 7 and so on for a total event score for each team. Last place gets 1 pt. Total of all event scores equals the day score. Highest day score wins the Colorado Quinella!

3 pt per beer under 9 per team member at end of day  will be subtracted

official Tie breaker is a team waterfall-style beer chuggoff, no visible liquid can remain in glass, first team to finish the team's beers wins the tiebreaker.  Referee will referee the tie breaker

Overall quinella referee decisions are final

Teams Complaining about rules will receive a Referee's kick in the nuts

Ski

Course will be a timed, modified GS course, with each skiier recording one heat's time. the group will have one chance to "slip" the course before racing starts. Test runs stop once the first racer starts.

All skiiers must chug one beer to start the race, time starting once the beer opens or is poked for shotgunning

All Skiiers will hand off the "empty" beer can to the beer referee who will then pour the un-shotgunned beer into the scoring container.  Points willl be reduced based on the the amount of beer remaining in the container.  Reductions are as follows:  1 oz. of leftover beer or more = 4 seconds added to individual ski time, 2oz. or more = 8 sec.and so on.

Errant hand offs to the beer referee will automatically receive an 8 second addition.

If a skiier misses a gate, he is DNF and will automatically record the worst overall individual skiier time PLUS an additional 10 seconds

Each team will take an average of the two skiers times and will post a team average time

Best team average time wins highest score, decending times score next lowest and so on.

if a team member uses anything other than skis,a 5% handicap will be given to individuals (5% reduction in time)

Bike

Biking starts with a 10 meter dash to the CRACK AND SQUISH station (some lucky bastard's car bumper)

Participants must chug a beer prior to mounting the bike

Biking will be scored by a team average of individual times. Timing to be done by the referee. Decisions of the referee are final.

If a biker does not finish, he is DNF and will automatically record the worst overall individual biker time PLUS an additional 5 minutes. And a kick in the balls

Boats

Boaters will use a pre-determined canoe to complete the course

The course is a out-and-back style race, starting location and turnaround point to be determined.

Race will be timed, lowest score wins the event.

Each team must start the race with a beer chug. Beer must be finished before getting in the boat.  All boaters will hand off the "empty" beer can to the beer referee who will then pour the un-chugged beer into the scoring container.  Points willl be reduced based on the the amount of beer remaining in the container.  Reductions are as follows:  1 oz. of leftover beer or more = 10 seconds added to individual ski time, 2oz. or more = 20 sec.and so on.
